Trust Company Of America Introduces Fractional Share Technology

Trust Company of America is now offering fractional share technology to those advisors who use its account management platform.

The fractional share technology allows advisors and their clients to own pieces of ETF or stock shares within a portfolio while gaining the broad diversification of owning whole shares. This eliminates the barriers often caused by highly priced investments and high exposure to risk, should those stocks or ETFs drop in value, TCA said.

“Investing in a piece of individual stock provides the highest level of flexibility and customization possible, enabling advisors to strategically diversify client portfolios without the high cost typically associated with owning whole shares,” said Joshua Pace, president and chief executive of TCA.

“Fractional share technology will equip advisors to work efficiently on more accounts, regardless of their size,” added James Capps, chief technology officer at TCA.  “This is an incredibly important differentiator for firms looking to grow."
